Motherhood is:
Exhausting

On call 24/7, a playmate, a cook, a maid, a taxi, a Mommy.
But I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Some days ya just need some time to rest, to relax, and enjoy the quiet. To just be.

Take 2!!

Well, much over due, and most of you already know...but we are thrilled to announce to the blog world that we are expecting baby #2.  We are thrilled and Miss Tenley is pumped too.  She told us "baby, Mommy's tummy" before the test even read positive!

We are currently 19 weeks along, and things are going great for baby.  For Mommy is a different story.  I was sick with Tenley until about 15 weeks, but this little one is already challenging me.  I know it is harder, simply because I am chasing a toddler this time, but I am beyond ready for the sickness to go away and enjoy this pregnancy!  My complaining won't make it any better though, so I am trying to focus on the positive.  We are using the same OB/GYN this time as we did with Tenley, as she is great.  Our due date is April 20th(ish), 2013.  We have an appointment this Wednesday, where we can find out gender....but, we are holding out this time.  Tim started out wanting to with Tenley, and I couldn't do it.  So this time, we are changing it up.  He says, "it is one of the last true surprises and he wants to experience it" so I am 100% on board with it this time and completely okay with it.  Which is shocking for the girl who has to plan, plan, plan for everything!  I guess sometimes you just have to let go, so that is what I am doing.

I have been trying to keep up with weekly belly shots...why is this such a chore, it isn't like it changes....there are always 7 days of opportunity...but, I have still managed to miss a few weeks...here is what I have uploaded to the computer so far.  I won't wait 20 weeks to post the next ones!

We just found out the  news! I love nothing more than her grinning face in the background
4 weeks, didn't have the chalkboard yet :)

So, still have some catch up to do. I really need to also remember to do photos before Tenley is in bed, because we want her to be a big part of this pregnancy.  She already loves to talk to the baby, my heart melts.  She will tell baby about her day, her toys, her shows, beyond adorable.  Oh how I love that girl, and look forward to seeing her as a big sister, and realizing how much more love we have to share.  Please keep us in your prayers and we progress through this journey of life.  We are blessed and looking so forward to this new adventure!

"Haw-yo-ween"

"Mommy, I want to be a cwoud" translation...a cloud.  We had planned on being Minnie Mouse, since that is our current favorite. However, when asked what she wanted to be, a cloud it was.  So we went with it.  I must say she makes a pretty adorable cloud too.

We got to have Halloween as a family this year, which hasn't happened (well ever) due to Daddy's work schedule, so we were thrilled to spend it together.  She had a blast, but at our last stop at some friends where we stayed for a while, I think she had more fun handing out candy that taking it for herself.  She was into the suckers, but other than that showed very little interest.  Prancing around "fwoating" like a cloud was way more fun!

These were downtown a few days before with her buddy Brodie.  It was FREEZING this day, but Halloween was beautiful!

 Motherhood is:
Innovative

It may work.  It may not.  Evaluate your options, and find what works for your family. Even if it isn't "mainstream."

Love at first sight, would explain this girl and her trike. She is obsessed. She received it from Papa and Maw (my parents) for her 2nd birthday.  We found that we have some growing to do before we can easily reach the petals.  So...daddy cut some pieces of wood, grabbed the duct tape and now we are (almost) in business.  She still has to stretch and we have some tweaking to do, but we are on the move!

Motherhood is:
Independent

Many times you need to ask for help.  But sometimes, you just have to go with your instinct.  You know your family better than anyone.  A Mother's Intuition is no myth!

"I do it!" that is the phrase of choice in our house right now.  Little Miss Independent wants to do EVERYTHING herself.  I am thrilled that she is already a girl who knows her mind, knows what she wants and works to accomplish it.  But when two of the same meet, sparks can fly.  I am working on it, her way may work too.  I MUST remember that.

Fall Fun

We finally made to the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago.  We had wanted to go the day after Tenley's birthday party, but it was FREEZING so that didn't happen.  Between being super busy, and weather it took a while for us to get there.  However, when we did, we hit an awesome day, and had a ton of fun.

 headed out for some fun!

She saw this giant slide and was hooked!  I think this proud face says it all. And I also think Daddy was glad when Marlee and Mylee joined us so he didn't have to go down the slide with a hundred little ones!

sinking in the corn, she was not a fan!

Like my crown? We had a birthday party for a friend of hers that morning where she got this, and she was not about to take it off.

Finally time to head out to find the perfect "pun-kins"

She was a ham the whole time, and loved every second!

What an awesome day!

A Circus Celebration, Tenley turns 2!

Where oh where did the last 2 years go? On Oct 3rd our little girl turned two!  We celebrated her big day the following Saturday with a circus birthday party.  Originally scheduled to be in our back yard, the cold weather moved us inside.  It was a WONDERFUL day. Here is the recap in pictures.  Thanks to my Mom and Aunt Mary for taking photos since this Mommy was there to enjoy the day, not worry about photos!

Pick Your Nose, every circus has clown noses!

Awesome cupcakes made by Deanna Camper, Topeka.

Tenely seeing her great friend, Addie!

Great Grandma Barbara w/ Tim and Tenley

We LOVE our Jen!

Cake Time! I can count on one had the number of times this girl has had cake, however, all she would tell us she wanted for her birthday when asked was "brown cake," so as requested that is what she had.  Excited at the idea, but not so much when it actually came time to eat it. Silly girl!

Alex and Great Gma

Papa and Maw (my dad & mom) gave her a trike and she is all about it!

Presents!

She had so much fun, and was adorable with each gift!

This little girl lit up the day.  We hoped that she didn't go into "shy mode." She definitely did not do anything close.  She was all over the place, spreading joy to everyone that was able to celebrate with us.  Her smile and giggle are infectious, and it makes my heart so full.  She is loving and considerate, but with her share of sass.  She knows her mind (already), and isn't afraid to let you know.  She takes the time to learn her surrounds, and then comes out our social butterfly.  She talks, and talks, and talks.  Full conversations and sentences with us.  It seems to have appeared overnight, she is a parrot...right Maw? (have to ask)  Still a bit of a small fry at about 24ish pounds.  Her 2 yr well baby is this week.  She decided she is over diapers, so on to Minnie panties it is.  She is doing great with it. Now telling us most times, even though we still ask a million times a day.  Dancing is our favorite pass time, and tumbling class our favorite weekly event.  She is a JOY, there is no other way to put it!  She has blessed our lives beyond measure, and even though some days are a challenge,  I cherish each and everyone.  Thanks for being my baby girl, I love you more than you will ever know!
