Motherhood is:
Creative

helping their minds to grow.
challenging oneself to try something new.
accepting it may just be a giant mess...and a whole lot of fun!

Hot miserable summer days have been endless here over the last few months. Being outside after about 10:30 a.m. is pretty much a no go.  So trapped inside we were.  Time to bust out the paint.  This was planned to be a finger paining project, but lucky for me my little neat freak can't stand anything on her fingers so it turned into a paintbrush project.  Fine by me, and she LOVED it.  Picking colors and smearing it everywhere, she was in heaven.  The finished project is now proudly displayed in our kitchen!

Motherhood is:
Foundational

Growing from the base up.
Each step builds on another.
Seeing it all come together is so rewarding.

Creating and building. Problem solving.  Testing the waters.  I love watching it all.  Being here to help her with the basics and seeing where she goes from there is such a joy.  Each day is it something new.  Her little mind astounds me.

Motherhood is:
Nurturing

Support and Encouragement.
Full of love at every turn.
For them and for us.

Lately this little Mama goes NO WHERE without not one but two babies.  For walks, on bike rides, to the store, across the room.  Just today she said, "babies nap" and promptly took a baby back to her room, crawled up into our rocking chair, got the blankie all comfy and situated, grabbed "pop" (her current favorite book) and settled in for some rocking and snuggle time with her baby.  It was absolutely precious.  The best part was she had no idea Daddy and I were watching the whole thing unfold, we just peeked in through her door and watched her overflow with love.  M.E.L.T.  Seeing the love in her is such a great reminder that she does indeed see it in us.  And that makes me so very happy.

Trip(s) to the Park

I think I have posted about the Phillipsburg park before, it is wonderful!  Great for bigs and littles.  The weather actually wasn't unbearable while we were home so we took advantage of it!

Tac-Toor

This was the scene for some time.  This little girl waiting "patiently" for Papa to take her on her tac-toor ride.  She watched it incessantly, making sure it didn't move without her.

(excuse the crazy hair)

Papa and tac-toor went hand in hand before, now they are inseparable.  Every tractor we see is a loud Pa-Pa!!! Thanks for the ride Papa we love you!

Kansas Biggest Rodeo 2012

Our hometown, Phillipsburg, is only about 2,300 people.  It is quiet and quaint and we love it.  However, when rodeo week comes around you can't help but feel the energy and excitement that rolls into town.  Rodeo is 3 nights (Thurs-Sat) with 2 nights of slack before that.  Tenely got to go to Wednesday night slack and Thursday night rodeo. Thursday is Tough Enough To Wear Pink night,  which raises money and awareness for breast cancer.  Then Friday and Saturday nights are Mommy & Daddy date nights!
Getting ready for Thursday night rodeo!

 Friday Night!
One of the only herds of broke (to drive) longhorns in the nation.  They were pretty cool! They also made their way down main street for the rodeo parade on Saturday afternoon!

A little dirt...

never hurt anyone!  This girl was loving it.  Digging, playing, and checking out the "woof woof" with Aunt Megan.
