Those Pearly Whites!

We have had these pearly whites for a while, but getting a photo of them has been a challenge to say the least.  We thought that last week was going to bring another lower tooth, but after a few rough nights, some cranky days, and lots of drool, it seems as though it has decided to lay low for the time being.  I am good with a LONG break until the next one!!  She didn't have to many problems with the first 2, but I know she was uncomfortable.  She woke a few times in the night, but got herself back to sleep quickly and had a temperature one evening, however, it was only at 99 degrees.  Say your prayers that the other come so smoothly! So, for now she is back to her chipper self!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter, and so enjoyed having our Family here to celebrate with us.  My Mom, Grandma Hanke, Tim's Dad, and Grandma Barb were able to come and spend a few days with us.  Dad had to work so was not able to be here, and we missed him but are so happy for his new job and that it is going so well. We will hopefully get to see him very soon!

Here is a brief picture recap of the weekend, it was raining and and not very nice on Easter Sunday, so I still need to take Tenley outside in her Easter dress to get some pictures.  I was planning to do it today, but the wind was crazy.  Maybe tomorrow....

so for now here ya go!

This little girls personality is pure joy, I love her many expressions SO much!
(and we have discovered out tongue)

Tenley and her Great Grandma Barbara

Baking our Easter cake

Sunday morning before church, Mommy got some rest and Tenley had a great time playing with Grandpa.  I am sad that I missed this, everyone said it was the cutest thing. Daddy went for the video camera, but lets just say it works better when you push record....

A rare family picture! So hard to get us all in, I really need to do better at it!

Love my Grandma!

Love that face

Are we lucky or what?

What a loved litle girl!

I was just going through some pictures on my laptop and realized that I had never blogged the following.  My Mom and Dad were here for the weekend which means Miss Tenley was not short on cuddles, hugs, kisses, and love!

So..Daddy dressed me...but I still had a blast outside (in his defense, it was quick and handy!)

Somewhat of a hodge-podge, but we had a wonderful weekend and are ready for Grandma and Papa to come back and see us!

What is this thing?

We have introduced the sippy cup.....

ok, what do I do with this?

This way?....

That didn't work, lets study this...

I know something is suppose to come out of here....

Practice makes perfect...and we are practicing daily!  It has been a bit overwhelming lately for me to keep up with all of the "new' things that Tenley needs to be introduced too. From sippy cups, to a proper/balanced diet, to interactive toys, to new songs, etc.  this little one has so much to explore daily...and her Mommy has so much to learn daily! I have to remind myself that I need to relax at times and just enjoy where we are and not worry so much about being "right" all the time.  To do what makes sense for our family and not let the book guide me to much.  However, what did we do before mommy blogs with such great information and stories and encouragement and failures and successes and I could go on and on....

At any rate this little girl is the light of my life and her smiles and giggle serve as my reminder that we are doing what we know to be right and she is happy with it (as are we!)

6 Months Old!

Miss Tenley turned 6 months old on April 3, 2011, so I am just over a week behind, I am gaining! I am not sure where the last 6 months have gone, but each day has been filled with joy, smiles, giggles, and lots and lots of cuddles.  This little girl can make the worst of days unbelievable with just a simple grin!  I love her laugh with her nose and crinkled up and a smile that reaches to her cute little ears. She had a well baby this month and was 26 inches long and weighed in at 15 lbs and 9 ounces.  (however, I think the scale at the clinic is a bit off, because it said she had only gained 6 ounces in a month, I am SURE that is wrong.  Tim had taken her to the hospital to visit the OB department and be weighed last month.  They have a digital scale and it said 15 lbs 3 ozs, the one at the clinic is old school so I don't put a lot of stock in it)

However, here is the star of the show for her 6 month shoot with Mommy!

Happy 6 Month Birthday to ME!

Mom, can we be done...please?

Sweet Potatoes Anyone?

Tenley's six month birthday brought the introduction of solid foods! We started out with sweet potatoes and she LOVED them!! Since then we have tried pears..those took a few tries but they are growing on her; apples, love at first taste; and bananas...ICK! We are on day 2 of those and will continue to try, hopefully after a few more days we will be on a roll with those as well.  Next on the menu is avocado.

We have decided that we will be making all of her food.  We will know EXACTLY what is in each bite she takes.  No extra salt, preservatives, or fillers.  Just wholesome, yummy, fresh food.  Since we don't eat from a box/jar we don't expect her to either.  Hopefully seeing this lifestyle from the start will create better habits down the road.  It is funny that I never really paid much attention to organic foods, what cleaners I use, or even sunscreen...until baby!  Now, priorities are different and her well being, safety, and happiness are obviously the most important thing to me.

Here is a few pictures we snapped from our 1st encounter with sweet potatoes!

Ok, I will try it Mommy....

That wasn't rice cereal...

but I LOVE IT!!

and you better be getting me more!
