Motherhood is:
Nostalgic

Making memories of my past into memories for her.

The Kansas State Fair was a huge part of my childhood.  We went yearly, not only to take in the sights, sounds, and smells, but also to compete.  We were a 4-H family and I look forward to the day that we become that family.  I learned so much about life, myself, my abilities; it will be a joy to share this with our children.  This was our first trip in a few years, and Tenley's first trip ever.  She was perfect all day, the weather couldn't have been better. It was a day that truly reminded us just how lucky and blessed we are.

Motherhood is:
Constant

Always on the clock.  Even when your "not"
Always thinking, wondering, planning, enjoying, and if we are being honest...the occasional stressing.

Bedtime complete, now time to relax....well, sort of.  Hurricane Tenley hit this day.  Normally we pick up toys together, but time got away from us and a good bedtime was far more important at the time than picking up toys.  So it was left to Mommy & Daddy.  So maybe this one explains a bit of why this blog is so very far behind.  We have been so busy lately and enjoying our family time has been more of a priority.  I want to enjoy the "constant" part of this stage, even if that is picking up toys after a LONG day.

Motherhood is:
Helpful

Dinner make take a bit longer, Things may not be just so, but
"Mommy, I help" is worth a little extra time.

This girl is my sidekick, in the kitchen, folding laundry, and in pretty much everything I do throughout the day.  Though sometimes I catch myself thinking that I could finish the task in five minutes, we try to accomplish most tasks together.  It is good for her and possibly better for me to slow down and enjoy this stage and the fact that she wants to help.  And now that she is chatting up a storm and such a little girl (only hits of baby are left), it is a joy to talk about it all as we go through it all.  I am grateful for her help, the help of family and friends, and our Mommy friends who make each day better.

Tumbling Class

She loves to jump, and spin, and somersault, and on and on and on.  We have a great opportunity for a tumbling class here in Chanute at The Launching Pad, so we signed up.  Her class was just for little ones, and very small, which meant lots of time on pretty much whatever she wanted.

The fall session is in full swing and she loves every second.  "Ina go tumbng" is heard over and over and over in our house! She is getting pretty good at a few "tricks" on the trampoline and that is by far her favorite part. We have also gotten to make some new friends with the starting of a new class, so win for everyone! These are all from summer session, I need to snap some again. Maybe tomorrow...

Motherhood is:
Conscientious

The tendency to think carefully before acting

Did we eat healthy before Tenley was born? Yes(ish.)
Did I cook? No.
Have things changed drastically at our home? Yes.

Oh what I would give for this beautiful farmers market to be in my town....

Tim and I have always done fairly well at eating right.  However, once there was a little mouth to feed, it became much more important.  I studied, researched, and found what works for us.  We decided early on that we were going to make her baby food, and haven't looked back.  Fresh, organic (when possible), real.  I love it all, and have found that I really enjoy cooking too! We want her to know real food, where it comes from, and why it is such a good choice.  So far so good, our girl will eat pretty much anything we put in front of her.  Some of it I am sure is luck, but hopefully some of it is life choices.

Now if only I could find way to attend a farmers market like this gem that was in Solvang, CA.  While I was on a work trip last week our flight crew hit it up, and stocked up.  I was in Heaven!

Motherhood is:
Magical

Pure love. Pure Moments. Pure Happiness.

Simply Magical

Last weekend, after I returned home from a short work trip, we headed to Hutchinson to the Kansas State Fair.  I went pretty much yearly growing up, and Tim and I had been a few times together while dating...however, we hadn't been since we were married...hello 7 years ago!  We wanted to go, but hesitated.  After waking up to a rainy day at our house, checking the weather there and finding "65* and sunny" we loaded up the truck.  I am so beyond glad that we did.  It was a day of magic and bliss. Tenley was literally perfect all day (praise the Lord)even with no nap to speak of. She giggled, danced, waved and smiled all day long.  It was just what this little family needed to recharge after some long work days and crazy weeks.

Motherhood is:
Comfortable

You spend 9 months (most likely more) thinking, planning, imagining,
what will it all be like?
Then the day arrives, your a Mommy...
nothing has ever felt so natural, it just fits.

Though this little girl challenges me DAILY, I can't imagine a better fit.  While pregnant with her I thought so much about what it would all be like.  Will I have what it takes, will I measure up, will I "know" what to do.  Well, the answer is yes.  Some days are better than others and that is perfectly okay.  Some days what I never imagined would be comfortable, is just that.  Then of course there are the days you find yourself a bit "off" and out of that comfort zone, but that is what makes us stronger and better. each and every day.
